ADU Construction in Miami: What Homeowners Need to Know
Building an ADU in Miami starts with zoning, not construction. Before plans are drawn, the property has to qualify based on lot size, setbacks, utility access, and local code.
Most residential lots in Miami-Dade need at least 7,500 square feet for a detached ADU, although some garage conversions can qualify on smaller lots. In many cases, the maximum detached unit is between 400 and 800 square feet depending on zoning and the size of the main house.
At Mount Olympus Construction, we build legal ADUs and guest houses designed for long-term value, family use, or rental income.
